Welcome back to Golden Week of ChocoProLIVE! it’s day two and Gatoh Move have another packed show for us today. A bit of a change of pace today as our main event will be a singles match between the ace Baliyan Akki and Tokiko Kirihara in a match that’s bound to steal the show. Match two will see the Apple Goblin Mei Suruga team up with the Kung Fu Dragon Choun Shiryu, for the first time ever, and they will face the team of Sayaka Obihiro and Nonoka Seto (the sister of Miya Yotsuba) who has had some impressive outings recently on ChocoPro so lets see how she does teamed up with the amazing Obi. Hiyori will continue her training in a three minute exhibition match against Chie Koishikawa.

Our first match tonight will be another singles match with the up and coming Erii Kanae taking on the experienced and incredible SAKI. Without further ado lets jump into our show, Baliyan Akki welcomes us to #370 of ChocoPro Live! He runs down our card today and introduces our exhibition match as new trainee Hiyori continues to get her time against the experienced wrestlers on the roster, I love this idea, it’s a really good way to introduce and train new wrestlers. Chie wins the three minute match, oh is Chie bouncing onto the Chocolate square with a sword the best thing you’ll ever see.

Erii Kanae v SAKI

Pre Match Thought’s: Erii has been a joy to watch in the last few weeks and this is a big test for her against someone of the calibre of SAKI, I expect a lot from these two and think we could get a really good opener here. SAKI will be expected to win here but Erii will be a tough competitor who never stops fighting, so lets see what happens.

Summary: SAKI enters with her SPARK Joshi Atlantic and WAVE Tag team titles. A war of words starts us of before our referee, Chie, does the introductions. Erii offers the handshake and SAKI eventually shakes after Erii shouts at her for a bit. Erii takes it straight to SAKI but cannot seem to get ahead of her opponent. SAKI uses her experience to get in a number of rest holds whilst reversing a number of Erii’s wrist and head locks. Erii keeps fighting as she gets in another headlock which SAKI can only break out of with stiff punches.

SAKI throws Erii into the wall and moves out the way as Erii charges for a splash against the wall, this only gets a two count for SAKI. SAKI locks in a body scissors and uses it to throw Erii into the wall, she rolls up Erii but only gets a two.

Erii hits a spear for a two and goes for a Boston Crab but it gets reversed into a crucifix submission. SAKI follows this up with big stomps, and Erii fires back with stiff punches to the chest but SAKI just doesn’t budge. SAKI manages to lock Erii into a Boston Crab before transitioning into a half boston but Erii gets to the wall for the break.

Erii goes for a rollup after SAKI misses a splash from the windows and only gets a two, she locks in a head sciccors on SAKI but SAKI breaks out. A roll up for Erii only gets a two. SAKI goes for a clothesline (after using the audience member as the ropes) but misses; Erii takes down SAKI with a chop but only gets a two count, a roll up from SAKI to Erii only gets her a two.

SAKI locks in the sharpshooter as Erii tries to get to the wall but SAKI drags her back leading to the tap and the match.

Winner: SAKI by Submission

Stitch’s Rating: 3.5/5 Choco’s A really good underdog vs veteran match where Erii just would not give up. SAKI is at her best in these types of matches and thrives off being the bad guy in this scenario. A really enjoyable match that focused on both the wrestling and storytelling side which it did excellently.

Mei Su & Choun Shiryu v Sayaka Obihiro & Nonoka Seto

Pre Match Thought’s: This is a nice shakeup match that gives us something completely different, Mei and Akki have been amazing in the last few main events as a team but it’s great to see them in different surroundings. Mei will team with Shiryu who is so good to watch, his Kung Fu style brings something completely different to the show. I’ve said many a time how amazing Obi is, her charisma and energy alone will certainly take this match up to incredible levels whilst Seto is a bit unknown to me but she impressed me with her match in the main event a couple episodes ago. That match focused heavily on Mei and Seto’s rivalry so lets hope that gets picked up here.

Summary: Baliyan Akki informs us that we have Mei Su today not Mei Suruga. Mei Su enters with painted red rosy cheeks and is juggling apples whilst making Kung Fu poses. I know nothing about this but oh do I love it (let me know some background if anyone knows). Shiryu and Su (known as Mei Mei by the crowd) refuse the handshake as Su starts off against Obi, we get some more Kung Fu poses as Su keeps rolling underneath Obi’s clotheslines. SU tags out to Shiryu and Seto meets him on the mat, Shiryu takes control of the arm before both competitors go for quick rollups that only get two’s.

Obi is back in and stops Shiryu tagging in Mei Su, he is thrown into the corner and splashed by both Obi and Seto. Shiryu and Seto again now as Mei has some well chosen words for our ref Chie about the pace of her counting. Mei is back and enjoys stamping on Seto’s head she makes a pinfall whilst sat on Seto but Seto Kicks out.

Shiryu is in and locks in a clutch on Seto, she manages to break at the edge of the mat as Shiryu gives Obi a kick in the corner. Seto unleashes stiff rights on Shiryu, which seems to just fire him up, he rakes her back and revels in his cheekiness.

Obi is in and delivers a back elbow against the wall to Shiryu, we then get a (trumpets please) CHOPFEST!!!! before and, don’t get too excited here, but it’s followed up by a CHOP OFF!!!! Oh my I think I might faint from all the excitement!!!

Shiryu tags in Su after delivering a brutal kick to Seto’s back, Mei punches Seto and Obi whilst leading a lovely chant to the extent that even Akki is confused. (Akki doing English commentary is a wonderful addition here, thank you ChocoPro!!!!).

Seto gets a very near fall on Su with a roll up but she’s able to just kick out. Su hits the trademark of Mei Suruga with a dropkick followed up by a double stomp. Shiryu and Su both go to the window but are stopped as Seto takes out Su but can’t avoid the six one nine from Shiryu. Mei Su gets the three count with a variation of a leaping roll up.

Winners: Chon Shiryu & Mei Su By Pinfall

Stitch’s Rating: 2.75/5 Choco’s. A really fun match had some good wrestling combined with the perfect level of silliness. Mei Su is not a character I’m familiar with, but oh did I enjoy. Anyone even somewhat familiar with ChocoPro will have been expecting good things from this match and they delivered with a brilliantly enjoyable match. I hope Mei Suruga is okay and we’ll see her back soon.

Baliyan Akki v Tokiko Kirihara

Pre Match Thought’s: Similar to Mei’s match, it’s a nice shakeup for Bestbro’s, Akki has also been great recently and I’m really excited to get to see him shine on his own. Kirihara has also been a revelation to me, completely unfamiliar with her work prior to starting ChocoPro but oh my is she good. This could be a 4+ star main event so lets see what happens.

Summary: The match begins after Akki refuses to shake hands, at first does but that is countered by Kirihara who goes to work on Akki’s arm. The two are very even to begin with as both go for submissions and rest holds but no one can really lock in anything meaningful.

Kirihara gets a two count after rolling up Akki as the two are almost equal, a power of strength begins as both hit hard kicks to each other. Akki goes to the mat as he lays stiff punches into Kirihara’s back whilst locking in a triangle submission, Kirihara counters this into another roll up for two.

Akki tries to take control but Kirihara always has a counter for him especially when she picks him up and throws him out the window. The match goes to the outside (the other side of the window) as Akki suplexes Kirihara out there. They brawl outside which concludes with Kirihara kicking Akki against the concrete wall.

Back in the chocolate circle, Akki throws Kirihara against the wall before delivering stiff kicks to her thighs. Akki follows this up by running Kirihara’s injured legs into the wall as he starts to really take control. A leg lock follows as Akki decimates the knee/leg. Kirihara just gets to the wall for the break but Akki goes straight back to the knee; Kirihara manages to connect with some big kicks (on her other leg) before hitting a takedown that gets a close two count.

Akki reversed an abominable stretch but manages to get caught in an ankle lock, Akki gets to the wall as both are now nursing leg injuries. Akki goes to the window but Kirihara meets him with an arm drag across the mat (wow this is good). Both are down but Kirihara is up first, hard kicks to the injured leg of Akki follows as he starts a (trumpets) CHOPFEST. It’s chops v kicks here as both competitors tell the other to bring it. Akki gets the upper hand with a chop against the wall but Kirihara counters into an arm bar. Akki is just able to keep his fingers interlocked, but eventually Kirihara gets it fully locked in as Akki desperately gets to the edge of the mat for the break.

Akki sends Kirihara flying into the wall but misses a dropkick, the two out manoeuvre each other once more as once again the two face off in the middle of the mat with kicks and chops. Akki hits a brutal backbreaker after breaking out of a head lock but only gets a two. Akki goes up to the window for the big splash but Kirihara gets the knees up and locks in an arm bar, Akki reverse into the wall before hitting a brutal kick.

Akki locks in a sleeper which Kirihara counters into a near fall, Akki follows up with a backbreaker before jumping of a… sink, I think, before finally hitting the splash from the window for the three. WOW.

Stitch’s Rating: 4.75/5 Choco’s. This was incredible, the psychology was out of this world, the storytelling was amazing and the selling everything was just brilliant. Akki proved why he is so big for Gatoh Move and Kirihara shows how she is just a amazing match merchant, they both gave everything here and it showed. Can’t say how much I loved this.

Winner: Baliyan Akki By Pinfall

SAKI Wins Janken Tournament

That’s it for this episode of ChocoPro, we’ll be back again with Golden week day 3! It’s been a great week so far so can’t wait to see what ChocoPro bring us next!

Final Rating: 4/5 Choco’s. A really good show that changed the status quo a little bit from recent weeks, two single matches this week and oh were they really good. Once again Erii Kanae was brilliant in her battle with SAKI but the main event just blew me away, it was just amazing and I have to be honest I didn’t expect it. I expected a great main event but this was even better than I thought it could be. I’ve praised Tokiko Kirihara before but she proved why she is maybe one of the most underrated wrestlers in the world right now.
