Wrestling has never been more accessible than it is right now. From streaming sites to Triller TV to Youtube, gaining access to your favourite companies shows has never been easier. For smaller companies Youtube is gold for promoting and growing your promotion; a site where you can not just grow your audience but create a community and connect with them. For fans it’s hours worth of free content that can range from small shows, big shows, stipulation shows and so much more.
To help you navigate the mass content, I have compiled a guide of five wrestling ppvs (a mixture of indies and more mainstream) that you should watch on Youtube for FREE right now.
5.ChocoProLIVE Masahiro Takanashi Return Show- I Only Live Once
Link Here
Stitch’s Summary: ChocoPro is an online weekly show by Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling, run by the legend Emi Sakura. It combines technical wrestling with comedy to provide it’s very unique own style (see my latest review that involves a bike being rode directly into two people here). ChocoPro has it’s own uniqueness, there is no ring but a mat in a small building, there is two windows behind the mat that wrestlers are regularly thrown through. It’s something no other company is bringing right now.
Whilst you can start with any ChocoPro episode I have chosen the Masahiro Takanashi return show as my one to start with here as it showcases the best of ChocoPro. A show with three matches all wrestled in completely different styles. ChocoPro shines with it’s comedic balance and this show shines the most. This a show where we got great psychology and storytelling in our first match (Balliyan Akki & Minoru Fujita v Chris Brookes & Yukio Sakaguchi), a second match where the comedy shines through (Emi Sakura & Yuna Mizumori v Mei Saint-Michael & Sakisama) before a phenomenal main event between Masahiro Takanashi & Fuminori Abe that combined storytelling, outstanding wrestling and two very solid workers to deliver an end to a fantastic show.
Matches:
- Balliyan Akki & Minoru Fujita v Chris Brookes & Yukio Sakaguchi
- Emi Sakura & Yuna Mizumori v Mei Saint-Michael & Sakisama
- Masahiro Takanashi v Fuminori Abe
4.GLEAT G Pro Wrestling Ver 25
Link Here
Stitch’s Summary: Gleat is one of the newer promotions, first opening it’s door in October 2020. It mixes pro wrestling with mixed martial arts led by mma and pro wrestler Kiyoshi Tamura and is run by former Japanese wrestler Kaz Hayashi who is Chief technical officer. I’ve picked one of GLEAT’s best received shows ever as my recommendation for today. Gleat has nearly all their shows on Youtube so there’s plenty to choose from (with GLEAT Ver EX being another great show).
The match to really point your attention to for Ver 25 is the main event; El Lindaman and Shigehiro Irie put on an absolute war, showcasing Japanese Strong Style at it’s best and most brutal. This show balances the new blood and veterans in GLEAT well, any fans of Japanese wrestling may recognise legends such as CIMA, Shingo Tagaki and Hirooki Goto on the card making this a great entry point for any new fan.
Matches:
- Minoru Tanaka, MUSASHI & Soma Watanabe v BULK Orchestra (Check Shimatani & Quiet Storm) & Masato Kamino
- Takanori Ito v Yu Lizuka
- DASH Chisako v Michiko Miyagi
- Jack Cartwheel & STRONGHEARTS (Issei Onitsuka & T-Hawk) v 60 Seconds (Jun Tonsho, Keichi Sato & Tetsuya Izuchi)
- Hirooki Goto v Hayato Tamura
- CIMA & Shingo Takagi v BULK Orchestra (KAZMA SAKAMOTO & Ryuichi Kawakami)
- El Lindaman v Shigehiro Irie G-REX Championship
3. RISE Underground Pro Wrestling The Violence Party 2023
Link Here
Stitch’s Summary:We are heading to the UK for our next show with RISE Underground, a company for the deathmatch fans out there. RISE opened in 2014 and is the home of some of the UK’s finest deathmatch wrestling. RISE has a number of it’s brutal shows as well as matches available on Youtube for absolutely nothing.
The show I have selected for RISE is The Violence Party. The title of this event could not be more accurate, if you want one and a half hours of blood, chaos, glass and all of your favourite deathmatch staples then this is for you. It’s wonderfully mental and a great example of indy deathmatch wrestling, not for everyone but if you do like deathmatch violence then you must check this out.
Matches:
- Casanova Valentine v BA Rose Deathmatch
- Session Moth Martina v Nina Samuels
- Danny Demanto v Kasey Kirk Deathmatch
- Brandon Kirk, Eric Ryan & John Wayne Murdoch v Deathmatch Outlaws (Big Joe, Darko & Michael Caden)
- Leonardo Darwin v Carl Barma
- Iceman v Jack Harrop Last Man Standing Deathmatch
2. Smash Wrestling Canusa Classic 2023
Link Here
Stitch’s Summary: Next up is Canadian promotion Smash with their CANUSA classic which pits the Women of USA & Canada against each other to see who comes out on top. Over the years many now mainstream talent have taken part such as Jordynne Grace, Allie, Su Yung, Ruby Soho and Gail Kim. 2023’s edition is no different with some of the best free agent women’s talent in the world being featured. It’s a night of great action and really serves as a showcase for the best of Women’s talent in pro wrestling today.
The highlight of the night is definitely the Rosemary v Jessicka match where the two continue to tell the story of their long running rivalry including Allie as special guest referee.
Matches:
- Miley v Zoey Skye
- Alexia Nicole v Dream Girl Ellie
- Janai Kae v Lufisto
- Dani Mo v Seleziya Sparx
- Jody Threat v Maki Itoh
- Jessicka v Rosemary Allie Special Guest Referee
1.TNA Turning Point 2009
Link Here
Stitch’s Summary: TNA has returned to the mainstream in recent years but, during it’s time out of the limelight, they added many of their back catalogue to Youtube. Most of classic TNA is available on their channel and well worth a watch.
My pick to watch today is Turning Point 2009, a card that showcases the best talent of early TNA (especially with the main event of AJ Styles v Christopher Daniels v Samoa Joe). The talent on this card is phenomenal and the matches are mostly great quality; there are three matches I would easily rate at least 7/8 out of 10 with scope for even higher (these are marked below). If you are looking for a blast of nostalgia or just some really good wrestling this is my pick to start with.
Matches:
- (Must Watch)The Amazing Red v Homicide TNA X-Division Championship
- The Beautiful People (Lacey Von Erich, Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky) v ODB, Sarita & Taylor Wilde TNA Knockouts Women’s & Women’s Tag Championship
- The British Invasion (Brutus Magnus & Doug Williams) v The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) v Beer Money Inc (Bobby Roode & James Storm) TNA World Tag Team Championship
- Tara v Awesome Kong Steel Cage Match
- Rhino & Team 3D v D’Angelo Dinero & Matt Morgan
- Scott Steiner v Bobby Lashley Falls Count Anywhere
